PROCESS AND AUTOMATION ENGINEER

We’re looking for a strong and creative Process & Automation Engineer to join the team and help us develop, implement, monitor and optimize efficient manufacturing processes & workflows. 

We’re looking for someone who is motivated to make a real difference and is committed to growing with us at pace.

 You’ll be driving manufacturing fitness while spearheading continuous optimisation to  support innovation and rapid growth.

A typical day might look like:

  • Developing lean, agile and scalable processes that minimise risk and maximise efficiencies & optionality.
  • Analyzing production workflows to optimize manufacturing for streamlined productivity and adaptability.
  • Developing working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents, and ensuring they are followed.
  • Day-to-day problem solving and maintenance to ensure production lines are always running.
  • Getting your hands dirty and helping run our machines on the production floor when needed.
  • Working with the Chief Engineer and Product team to translate and implement new product lines from R&D to production.
  • Helping in the design and manufacture of new machinery and equipment.
  • Monitoring compliance - H&S, Food Safety, Confidentiality, etc.
  • Managing process change - training and supervising staff on new processes and technology. 

Does this sound like you?

  • You have solid Process Engineering experience (6+ years) with some in food production.
  • You have demonstrable experience with Automating processes including digitisation.
  • You hold an “Electrical Appliance Serviceperson - endorsed to disconnect and reconnect” certification, or higher certification.
  • You are resilient with the ability to give and take feedback.
  • You are self motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Your written communication skills are excellent and you have experience writing functional descriptions, P&ID’s, and manuals.
  • You’re able to switch between managing the high level elements of a project while also remaining focussed on the smaller details.
  • You’re machine-minded - you have a knack for picking up new pieces of equipment and figuring out how it works.
  • Bonus if you have a forklift licence!

    MANUFACTURING LINE TECHNICIANS

    We’re always on the look-out for great Manufacturing Line Technicians to help keep the Sunfed engine humming. We’re a growing business and there are lots of opportunities for people who are keen to grow their career. We run both a day and night shift everyday.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Preparing ingredients, mixing, and general food handling
    • Packing and inventory of finished products
    • Performing required QA sensory and factory test for finished products
    • Accurately documenting and recording data and information for production and quality purposes
    • Ensuring compliance with all operations and QA procedures
    • Upholding strict compliance with all relevant Hygiene and Safety legislation and requirements
    • Helping continuously improve functions and processes to optimise workflow
    • Cleaning and shutting down our production line
    • Running our machines from start to finish - continuously monitoring them and making sure they’re running optimally.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • You have experience on a production line in a food-manufacture facility.
    • You have a very solid understanding of health & safety as well as hygiene procedures within food production.
    • You’ve worked in fast-paced environments where you’ve held a high level of autonomy.
    • You have a strong work ethic and enjoy a challenge.
    • You’re a quick learner with a continuous improvement mindset and a positive attitude.

    MACHINE OPERATORS

    We’re always on the look-out for great Machine Operators to help keep the Sunfed engine humming. We’re a growing business and there are lots of opportunities for people who are keen to grow their career. We run both a day shift and night shift everyday.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Setting up machines to start a production cycle
    • Operating core machines on the production line
    • Fixing any issues that might occur during production
    • Controlling and adjusting machine settings as needed to maintain product quality
    • Inspecting parts with precision and measuring tools
    • Testing operation of machines periodically and conducting routine preventative maintenance, adjustments and repairs
    • Checking output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
    • Keeping records of approved and defective units or final products
    • Helping with general operation tasks including ingredients preparation, mixing, general food handling, packing and inventory of finished products, and all other related tasks
    • Performing required QA sensory and factory test for products
    • Accurately documenting and recording data and information for production and quality purposes
    • Monitoring compliance - overall health and safety, food safety, confidentiality.
    • Helping to optimise the production line for productivity and adaptability - we have a continuous improvement culture and are constantly iterating on what we do.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • You’ve operated complex machinery in a food production environment
    • You have an understanding of good manufacturing practice and continuous improvement
    • You have a very solid understanding of health & safety procedures within food production.
    • You’ve worked in fast-paced environments where you’ve held a high level of autonomy.
    • You have a strong work ethic and enjoy a challenge.
    • You’re a quick learner with a continuous improvement mindset and a positive attitude.
